Dr. Anup Shukla

Associate Professor, Electrical Engineering & In-charge AADHRIT Lab

Dr. Shukla leads AADHRIT Lab’s vision for resilient hybrid AC-DC microgrids. His research blends power system operation, converter control, cyber-physical security and renewable integration.

• Education: Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems), Indian Institute of Technology; M.Tech (Power Systems), National Institute of Technology; B.E. (Electrical), Government Engineering College.
• Experience: 15+ years in academia and industry including roles with ABB R&D, IIT Delhi and IIT Jammu.
• Awards: SERB Early Career Research Award, Outstanding Reviewer – IEEE Transactions, Best Paper Awards at PEDES & NPSC.
• Research Interests: Resilient microgrids, digital twins, demand response, protection & control, rural electrification.

• Research Topic: Grid-connected renewable energy resources, control resilience and demand response.
• Education: M.E. Electrical Engineering, Thapar Institute; B.E. Electrical, University of Jammu.
• Status: Hardware-in-loop experiments underway.

• Status: Simulation studies, collaborative visit to Luleå University scheduled 2025.

Bhukya Naveen

Ph.D. Scholar (2022 Cohort)

• Research Topic: Integration of electric vehicles in distribution systems with coordinated charging.
• Education: M.Tech Power Electronics, IIT BHU; B.Tech Electrical, Osmania University.
• Status: Developing EV charging emulator on lab’s DC bus.

Sherza Bashir

Ph.D. Scholar (Coursework Stage)

• Research Topic: Cyber-physical security of hybrid grids with intrusion detection.
• Education: M.Tech Power Systems, NIT Srinagar; B.Tech Electrical, Islamic University of Science & Technology.
• Status: Coursework completed; literature review underway.

Supports development of the cyber-physical testbed and maintains the IEC-61850 communication stack across lab racks.
